You Can Achieve and Maintain
Your Ideal Weight!
A lean, fit, healthy body should be the goal for any man or woman who wants to enjoy optimal energy, vitality and productivity. Many of us carry unnecessary extra pounds that can negatively affect our quality of life and self-image. The process of achieving optimal weight management is dependent on energy expenditure, caloric intake and the balancing of proteins, carbohydrates and fats to stabilize hormonal factors, such as cortisol and insulin, which contribute significantly to fat usage and whether it is used as a source of energy or fat storage.
There is a huge difference between weight loss and fat loss. Losing weight is relatively easy, but does not guarantee that a significant percentage of body fat has been lost. In poorly constructed weight loss programs, many people lose more muscle tone than body fat, becoming essentially smaller, fatter versions of themselves with no net improvement in body composition.
When muscle tone decreases, the ability to burn fat decreases as well because the metabolic rate actually slows down. This is why most weight loss programs fail. People frequently gain all the weight back that they lost. The most effective way to maintain fat loss is to protect the lean muscle weight because that improves the basic metabolism - improving the rate that fat is burned as a source of energy.
